How to compute with fractions
- Add / subtract: put both fractions over a common denominator, then add or subtract the numerators.
- Multiply: multiply the numerators and the denominators.
- Divide: multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction.
The result is then reduced to lowest terms by dividing by the greatest common divisor, and shown as a decimal and a mixed number.
